Where do you start when you need a website…
- A big web design company
- A solo designer
- A marketing specialist
- A student
- Do it yourself
Before you can answer the “who”, you need to know the “why”.
I know, “If you’re in business, you need a website or you won’t be taken seriously.”
But would you have business cards made, and not have the right information and reason that someone should use your services clearly stated on them?
So what do you need to put into a website:
- What you do
- Who you are
- What products and services are available
- Who uses your services
- When can you be reached and how
- Contact info
- And much more if you really think about it.
What you might want to achieve with a website:
- More clients
- More products sold
- Stay in touch with prospects and clients
- Generate leads
- etc…
So here’s an exercise that might help:
Print off this page and take the time to answer the bullet points that follow “So what do you need to put into a website:”
Pay close attention to “What you do”… can you really explain clearly what it is you do in one paragraph?
Try carrying these questions with you for about a week and add to it as you go along.
Once you have this information, you will have a solid “content building block” in place.
And you can then be in a better position to ask “How can i get a website”
Cheers until the next time
